With the start of its first-ever season, Season of the Malignant, Diablo 4 will introduce several new progression systems, including Season Journey, Battle Pass, and Season Blessings. All of these will enhance your leveling experience and provide additional rewards as your characters make their way through the world of Sanctuary.
In this article we'll cover the Season Journey system in depth, based on the info shared by developers so far. Not every detail of this progression system is fully revealed as of now, but we do still have a very good sense of what we can expect already, with plenty of specifics.

Season Menu Tab
When you log in during the Season of the Malignant on the new Seasonal character after July 20, you will see a new tab in the menu, named "Season". It contains all the newly-introduced seasonal progression systems added to Diablo 4, including Battle Pass (scroll bar on the bottom), Season Journey, and Season Blessings.
All of these features will be available for free to everyone who owns Diablo 4, and a paid Premium Battle Bass is not required to access any of the seasonal progression systems.
The panel on the left contains info on your current Seasonal Blessings, and the Chapter of your Seasonal Journey is displayed right above. Click on the latter to display the Seasonal Journey Chapters interface.
Season Journey Chapters
The Season Journey tab is split into Chapters that all present you with various objectives to complete. Finish the required number of tasks to receive the current Chapter rewards and move on to the next Chapter.
You don't have to finish main story Campaign to gain access to the Diablo 4 Season Journey, unlike it is with the Season Mechanic. You will be earning progress starting from character Level 1 no matter what. However, note that some of the Chapter objectives are tied to the Season Mechanic, which means you do have to finish the campaign to be able to complete them.
But don't fret - good news is that the number of quests required to go to the next Chapter is smaller than the total number of quest available in the Chapter. You don't have to complete each and every objective to advance!
So far, we know of these objectives that will be spread across the first three Chapters:

Season Journey Rewards
Completing a Diablo 4 Season Journey Chapter grants you different types of rewards. These include Favor - experience to progress your Battle Pass track - but also Loot Caches and Legendary Aspects.
The developers have confirmed that last Chapters of the Journey will also include exclusive Seasonal Titles and Cosmetics that will commemorate your dedication to the greater good of the world of Sanctuary.
Speaking of Legendary Aspects, it is understood that Season Journey will grant you specifically Aspects that you can't obtain from the Codex of Power, including the brand new ones introduced in the Season of the Malignant.
We even got a sneek peek at two brand new Aspects that will be available as Season Journey rewards:
- Barbarian: Charge calls forth 4 Ancients who also Charge, dealing 50% of normal damage;
- Druid: Poison Creeper 's active also casts Landslide in a circle around you. Earth Skills deal 10% increased damage to Poisoned enemies.
Do you like the Diablo 4 Season Journey system? Do you think rewards are impactful enough for early progression?
