Diablo 4 Best Farming Dungeon in Season of Malignant: Domhainne Tunnels

After the changes made in Diablo 4 Patch 1.1.1, Domhainne Tunnels in Scosglen currently stands out as the best farming Dungeon.

After the changes made in Diablo 4 Patch 1.1.1 the Domhainne Tunnels in Scosglen currently stands out as the best farming Dungeon.

Due to its great layout and a huge monster density, players can run it on repeat and benefit from incredible XP gains - both in the early leveling and in the late game!

The Diablo 4 content creator Raxxanterax has reported that he has reached Level 40 on his Hardcore Sorcerer in about 2 hours - just by running Domhainne Tunnels. It is almost an hour faster than the previous most efficient leveling method - resetting Strongholds.

In the Endgame, Domhainne Tunnels still retain its position as the Diablo 4 best farming Dungeon. It was recently showcased by the Diablo 4 Youtuber Moxsy, who estimates that the Dungeon provides around 60 million XP per hour on optimized characters in the World Tier IV.

How to Find Domhainne Tunnels Dungeon

The Domhainne Tunnels can be found in the Scosglen region, to the northeast of the main town Cerrigar.

The Dungeon is on the far west side of the Strand area, and is directly west of the nearest Corbach Waypoint.

Domhainne Tunnels Farming Guide

Domhainne Tunnels consists of three areas, each with their own quest objectives.

Upon entering the Dungeon, your first objective is to free six prisoners in the Crimson Passages, followed by a Gauntlet fight in the central room, and finally a quest to find a Stone Carving in the Dark Descent and to activate the door leading to the Boss Arena. The Dungeon ends with a Khazra Abomination Boss encounter in the Inner Cave.

The key to the most efficient farming strategy is that you actually want to stay only in the first area of the Dungeon!

It has an easy and predictable layout that will lead you on a circular path in a very narrow tunnel, and you will be constantly clearing dense packs on minions on the way. You don't need to actually free the prisoners! Just ignore them and focus on killing enemies.

The Crimson Passages area can contain occasional Events and Cursed Shrines - you want to engage them if you encounter them, since they are a great source of additional XP. It has been also reported that The Butcher can randomly spawn in the opening area of Domhainne Tunnels.

Once you've cleared the area, open the Town Portal. Next, you want to press 'Reset Dungeons' button you can find in the menu under your Quest Log. After that, enter the Portal you've used to get to the town - and it will put you straight into the new instance of a Domhainne Tunnels, once again filled with with monsters to the brim.

If you're in World Tier III or above, make sure you're using a Nightmare Dungeon version of Domhainne Tunnels. For several patches in a row, Nightmare Dungeons were on the receiving end of various XP and density buffs, which makes regular Dungeons obsolete in higher World Tiers as a method of farming loot or XP. Additionally, don't forget to activate an Elixir!

Important Note: Remember that the method above is only the best if your sole goal is to get levels in the early game or in the late game.

However, since we're skipping the Boss encounter, we won't be getting Glyph XP, as well as additional loot. If you're still in the process of leveling your Glyphs and assembling gear, it would be more optimal to go through the entire Dungeon and kill the Boss before resetting it.

But most importantly, if running the same layout over and over again with no variety doesn't sound like your idea of fun, don't feel pressed to follow this strategy. There are many viable approaches to leveling in Diablo 4, and ultimately the best one is the one which you enjoy the most.

Domhainne Tunnels is currently the Diablo 4 best farming Dungeon - bar none. It is expected to stay that way until the end of the Season of the Malignant.

In the upcoming Patch 1.1.2, there is no mention of any nerfs to the Domhainne Tunnels farming method. However, Blizzard are known to shadow-nerf or change things last minute, so we'll see if things actually remain the same.
